Testing a rule before deploying it ensures that it functions as you expected. Here’s how to test a rule.
Testing Steps:
-
Create a copy of a shift:
- Decide which shift you would like to create reservations in. Copy this shift in your settings
- Lock the shift for online bookings or reduce the online capacity to zero.
-
Configure and activate a rule:
- Configure a rule using the shift copy you created in step 1 and activate the rule
See how to configure and activate a rule [🚨add link to KB article after it’s uploaded 🚨]
-
Review results:
- Assess the reservations coming in, adjust the rule as necessary.
- Leave it running for at least a few days before you move to the next step.
-
Edit and reactivate the rule:
If you are satisfied with how the reservations are being created, you can now use your ‘real’ shift.
- Edit the rule to assign the shift you’d like to use.
- See how to edit a rule [🚨Add link to the specific KB article 🚨]
- Reactivate the rule.
All reservations will now automatically be assigned to the new shift. This process can take up to a few hours to complete.
Manual changes that were made to a reservation will not be overwritten.
- Edit the rule to assign the shift you’d like to use.
-
Delete the shift copy
Don’t forget to delete the shift you created for the tests.
