How to edit a rule?

Editing a rule allows you to modify the criteria used for automatic reservations. This guide explains how to edit a rule and the impact on existing reservations.

Steps to edit:

  1. Access the Rule:
    • Go to the PMS settings (settings → integrations → PMS settings)
    • Select the rule you want to edit by clicking on the pen icon.
  2. Make adjustments
    • Modify the parameters, such as meal plans, shifts or time slots.
    • Save the changes.
  3. Activate the rule
    • Activate the rule. This may take several minutes, please don’t close the screen while waiting.
  4. Effect on existing reservations
    • Existing reservations may be updated based on the new criteria.
    • Some reservations might be canceled and rebooked to align with the updated rule.

💡 If you changed one of the following fields manually, they will not be updated after a rule change:

  • PAX
  • selected date
  • selected time
  • shift
  • reservation status

Example: a reservation is automatically created at 18:00 based on the according rule settings.

You change the start time of this reservation to 19:00. The according rule is edited to create reservations at 20:00 and activated again.

The reservation for which you changed the start time, will stay at 19:00. All other existing reservations will be updated to 20:00.
