In this article, you'll learn how to manually assign reservations to one or multiple tables – either directly in the table plan view (SeatIn) or in the list view (BooqIn).

Manual Table Assignment Options
In the BooqIn View (List View)
Direct assignment via the pencil icon
-
In the list view, click on “+ Add Table” or the ✏️ pencil icon next to the reservation.
-
Enter the desired table number using your keyboard.
-
You can assign multiple tables by separating them with commas (e.g., “12,13”).
-
It’s also possible to assign tables from different areas (e.g., indoor & outdoor).
-
You can remove the table assignment at any time using the 🗑️ trash icon.
Via “Show more” > Edit table number
-
Select a reservation and click “Show more.”
-
Then click on “+ Add Table” or the ✏️ pencil icon next to the table number.
-
The process works the same as above – including multiple table assignments and deletions.
In the SeatIn View (Table Plan)
Direct entry of table numbers via keyboard
-
Just like in BooqIn, you can assign tables manually in SeatIn using “+ Add Table,” the ✏️ pencil icon, or “Show more.”
Drag & Drop functions
-
Drag & drop from the reservation list
Drag a reservation from the left-hand list onto a table in the plan. You can also assign multiple tables one after the other. -
Drag & drop within the table plan
Tap and hold a reservation already placed on the plan (it will enlarge), then drag it to another table. -
Swap tables using drag & drop
Drag a reservation onto a table that’s already occupied. A pop-up will appear allowing you to choose whether to swap or move the reservations.
💡 Moving may cause a conflict.
Double click or double tap
-
Double-click for existing reservations
A double-click (desktop) or double-tap (mobile) on a table assigns it to the selected reservation. -
Create new reservation by double-clicking a table
Double-click a free table to start a new reservation directly on that table.
The correct number of guests is pre-filled based on the table capacity.
💡 Double-click or double-tap is especially useful when assigning multiple tables to larger groups.
Conflict Indicators
-
Overbooked tables due to overlapping reservations
If a table is booked for multiple reservations at the same time, this will be clearly marked:
-
The table will appear highlighted in red in the table plan.
-
In the reservation list, the conflicting reservations will also be highlighted in red.
💡 These conflicts should be resolved manually – for example, by moving a reservation to another table.
-
-
Overbooked tables due to insufficient seats
-
If a reservation is assigned to a table with fewer seats than required, a warning icon will appear in the list view.
The number of missing seats is also displayed. -
💡 In this case, either combine additional tables or move the reservation to a larger table.
-
