Shift Not Bookable? – Checklist
In this article, you’ll find a practical checklist to help you identify why a shift cannot be booked.
In the shift settings, an online capacity must be defined. Make sure that:

The capacity for the shift is entered (→ Settings → Shifts → click on the respective shift).

The capacity has not already been fully used up by existing reservations.
2. Was the Shift Manually Blocked?
It’s possible that the shift was intentionally closed for the given day (e.g. due to company holidays or a private event).
- Open the calendar or BooqIn.
- Check whether the shift is active or blocked for that day. A blocked shift is marked with a red symbol (in BooqIn).
3. Was the Shift Converted into a Day Shift?
If a shift has been converted into a day shift, the settings of the day shift apply.

Check in the calendar if a double-paper icon is displayed → this indicates a day shift (see screenshot).

Review the day shift settings, as these may differ from the original shift settings.

Click on the three dots in the (day) shift to open the menu. If you click on the pencil, you’ll be taken to the day shift settings. Here you can review the capacities of the shift.
4. PAX Limit Reached
In the shift settings, a limit for certain group sizes can be set (e.g. only 5 reservations of 2 people each).

If this limit has been reached, guests of that group size cannot make further reservations.

Check in the shift settings if such a limit has been set.
5. Automatic Table Assignment (Mode 3)
When automatic table assignment (Mode 3) is activated, the system checks whether suitable tables are available.

Even if it looks like tables are still free, they may either be blocked or cannot be combined into a valid configuration.

Review the table configuration and possible combinations in the settings (→ Automatic Table Assignment).
6. Is the Widget Integrated Correctly?
Check if the widget is correctly embedded on your website or in other channels.

Via the widget link/integration, links can be created that only apply to certain shifts or events.

Verify the URL: if it contains e.g.
&shifts=Lunch
, then only the lunch shift will be visible and bookable. -
If the wrong link was embedded, the desired shift may not be visible.
