My rule was automatically paused, now what?

If a rule is paused, it may impact ongoing and future reservations. The most common reason for a rule being paused, is that aleno couldn’t create a reservation on a given date, because there’s no shift or timeslot for that date/time. This guide expla

Impact of a paused rule

  • new hotel bookings, created when the rule is paused:
    • No reservations are created for bookings that are created when the rule is paused.
  • existing reservations in aleno:
    • Existing reservations remain unaffected unless manually altered or if something changes on the PMS.
    • Changes on the PMS will still be synced to already existing reservations. For example, a pax size increase on the PMS also increases the PAX size for the corresponding reservation in aleno.
    • New reservations will not be created while the rule is paused.

Next steps after a paused rule

  • Receive a notification
    • aleno informs you via your notification preferences (notification center or email) about a rule being paused.
  • Review the rule
    • The most common reason for a rule being paused, is that aleno couldn’t create a reservation on a given date, because there’s no shift or timeslot for that date/time. For example there is no shift on that day at all, or because the shift time doesn’t match the start time used in the rule.
    • Please review your shifts or rules to make sure they exist on the days bookings can be made in the hotel and that the shift times correspond with the start times used in the rule.
  • Reactivating the Rule:
    • If you resume the rule, it will continue creating and updating reservations based on the current criteria.
    • Bookings that were missed during the pause will be retroactively created.
    • Before reactivating, review the rule to ensure it still meets your needs and make adjustments if necessary.
