Test Mode for Shifts & Events
In this article, you’ll learn how to use Test Mode to review shifts or events in the widget before making them visible to guests.
Test Mode lets you check your shift or event setup in the online booking widget without making it visible to guests.
This way, you can go through the entire reservation process like a guest, review shift questions, and verify all details—before going live.
Where to find it:
In the shift/event settings, enable:
Test mode – only visible via in-app widget link
How it works
-
When Test Mode is enabled in the shift or event settings, the shift/event is hidden from your public booking widget.
-
It can only be accessed through the in-app widget link in aleno (
Settings > Widget Link / Integration
). -
This allows you to test the configuration without guests booking it.
Important notes
-
In some cases, the shift/event may still be visible if you’re logged into aleno in the same browser.
To avoid this, use:-
The in-app widget link for testing
-
Incognito/private mode to check the public view
-
-
Once you’re happy with the setup, simply turn off Test Mode to make the shift/event publicly available.
Example use cases:
-
Check shift questions and flow before launch
-
Verify package or menu setup
-
Test special event configurations
