Setting Holiday Periods in aleno
With the holiday function, you can close your restaurant for a longer period with just a few clicks – e.g. for company holidays or renovation work. You can also leave a message for your guests, which will be displayed in the widget.
Configuration – How to set it up
Path: Settings > Holidays
Alternatively you can also open the calender view and enter holidays by clicking on the little green plus icon.
Here’s how to set up your holiday or closure period:
-
Click on “Add new restaurant holiday”
-
Enter a holiday name
-
Select the start and end date of the closure
-
Enter a message for guests (optional), e.g. “We’re taking a summer break – back from August 15!”
-
Click “Create” to save – done!
You can create as many periods as you like and edit them anytime.
Display – What guests and staff will see
-
In the widget (guest view): The period is blocked and your message is clearly displayed.
.
-
In the calendar: The period appears as “closed.”
-
In SeatIn & BooqIn: Clearly visible to your team, so no reservations are taken during this time.
Please note: If reservations already exist when vacations are entered, these remain unaffected. If necessary, these reservations must be contacted individually and adjusted or canceled.
In the SeatinIn and BooqIn view, it is also directly visible that vacations have been entered, but staff still have the option of entering reservations internally. If you want to prevent this, the shifts must be blocked or hidden, e.g. via the calendar view.
💡 Tip
You can also use the holiday function for single days, especially if you want to display a custom message to guests.
