API user

In this article, we show you how you can easily create API users to use for integrations.

You can find our API documentation here. To gain access, please create a login in advance.

With the aleno Marketplace, we offer a variety of interfaces to partners, streamlining daily operations in restaurants through automated data exchange.

Additionally, we provide an open API that allows all aleno customers to directly access these interfaces and implement custom integrations. This enables efficient connection between existing systems such as POS software, inventory management, CRM, and accounting tools, further optimizing processes.

Please follow these steps to create an API user:

1. Open the aleno backend, navigate to the menu in the top right corner, and select "Users/Roles."

You have to be logged in as the account owner or an admin to be able to access these settings.

2. Scroll down to the API Users section and click on "New User."

3.  Add the integration name and create the API user with the create button in the top right corner.

4.  The login data including a token is displayed. Copy the token and store it somewhere. It can only be generated once!

5. Share the login details (email, token, digest) with the integration partner, who can now do the installation of the integration on their side.

Please note: The token and digest are displayed only once and cannot be recovered later. Make sure to copy and securely store this information before closing the window.

If the data is ever lost, you can regenerate the API token for the respective user by navigating to Actions > Reset API Token.
